Last October my daughter
Lisa La Penna found out that she was having twins.
Her doctor scheduled her for an ultrasound on
Thursday, October 4th. (at 15th weeks)
During the ultrasound, the
tech found that Lisa's twins had Twin to Twin
Transfusion Syndrome.
Her doctor, Dr. Goldaper
told my daughter that the twins had a 10% chance to
survive. We were devastated.
The doctor gave us several
options, but the best was to go to Tampa Florida to
see Dr Quintero.
On the next Thursday,
October 12th, my daughter was in laser surgery with
Dr Quintero. The staff at Tampa General Hospital
were wonderful.
The next four months were
like a roller coaster ride, with different problems
coming up during weekly ultrasounds.
But finally at 35 weeks
(02/19/07) Lisa's two beautiful girls were born
alive and kicking. I can not thank Dr Quintero at
Tampa General enough for saving my granddaughter's
lives.
And for Dr. Goldaper at
Medical Center of Arlington in Arlington Texas for
directing us there.
