My Name is Danielle and I'm a twin. I’m 16 years
old. My twin is 4 minutes older than me. I have a
few sub stories to share because I think each one is
unique in some way.
One day after school my sister was going outside and
I was in another room away from her. All of a sudden
I felt this sharp pain in my finger. Well I was just
sitting there so I went to mom crying.
Then about 2 minutes later my sister showed up
crying; she had slammed her finger in the door. I
felt it before it set in on her.
After that we didn’t really understand; we were only
6 years old. We could always finish sentences and
actions and random stuff like that - we thought it
was cool.
We aren’t identical either.
Here is another story. It's more personal to me but
I would like to share it because I think it might
touch some of you out there.
When I was 6 years old I got the croup, which is an
illness that attacks the lungs and heart and can
kill. My sister was sleeping on the top bunk and I
was sleeping on the bottom, and she was sleeping
soundly when I woke her up in a panic because I
couldn’t breath.
She told me to go back to bed she didn’t realize I
wasn’t okay. I went to my mom's room and pounded on
the door over and over and my mom kept saying "hold
on sweetie."
I couldn’t hold on, I was running out of time. My
grandma heard the commotion and ran to my mom's room
and yelled as loudly as she could "Your daughter is
blue, she needs to go."
My mom came out and got the car ready, that’s when
my twin sister came out and was crying. And she said
these few words before my mom rushed me out the door
"Dani, I love you don’t go now. I need you still."
After the treatment was over and I went home I asked
my sister what that was about and she said, “I had a
dream that you were really sick and that you were
going to die. I didn’t want you to die because you
are a part of me."
Ever since that day my sister and I have been
inseparable. We share everything and make decisions
based on each other. Every date, plans, or get
together we are both there.
My twin is my best friend.
