I
am a member of the US Air Force and for the first
time in my life have been separated from my
fraternal twin sister. We were not always as close
as we are now.
My
sister has always had the strongest personality. I
was always a little quiet but silently strong so we
would clash a lot in our younger years. I recall a
time when we were in a Garden Ridge store and my
mother was with us. My sister and I were in two
different aisles looking at different decorations. I
started thinking about a song from the Musical
GREASE and started singing a verse in the middle of
the song out loud, when I heard an echo of the same
verse being sung on the other side of the aisle I
was in.
I
ran around the corner hardly daring to believe, but
sure enough I met my sister at the end of the aisle
with a look of utter astonishment on her face that I
am sure reflected mine. And a few feet away my
mother was standing there looking just as
disbelieving.
What are the odds that two people who aren't even
looking at each other or talking with each other
start singing a random song, starting at a random
verse?
This twin connection thing
is very cool, and I'm very happy to say that my
sister and I have grown incredibly close since then
and every reunion with her and my parents is never
taken for granted.
