Twins communicate while dreaming

I truly hope someone can respond to this and let me know if I am crazy or if it really happens to others!

I am the exceptionally blessed adoptive mother of what I presume to be identical twin girls who are 7 years old.

I say "presume" because I have no official documentation that they are identical twins, only the fact that I, on most days, get them confused!

They are also very close; they won't sleep apart, they say (and I have no reason to doubt) that they can feel one another's pain, and have many of the other "typical" twin characteristics.

A couple of nights ago I checked on the girls before I went to bed. Although they were spooning (typical) they had kicked their blanket off. I was attempting to re-cover them without waking them however, one of the girls stirred, acted as though she was awake, and scooted to the side of the bed (as if she were looking for something under the bed) and started talking in her sleep.

Her sister was completely out at this point but as soon as the one stopped talking the other sat straight up in bed and appeared to be answering her, after which she very promptly laid her head right back down.

Can twins be so close that they can actually participate in one another's dreams?! Was it just a coincidence and I am plain crazy?

My girls truly amaze me everyday in every way but other than being blessed with them I have no "twin experience." I truly want to understand the intensity of twin connections.
