My
daughter predicted our boy/girl twins
My wife and I are
deaf. We have three hearing children. They are
ages 11, 9, and 7. Finally my wife and I decided to
have another baby. We decided we didn't want one
more, but two more as we didn’t want the baby to be
alone as they have much older brothers and sister.
We announced to our
children that my wife was pregnant. They were
excited. One day, my daughter
Hannah, age
7, drew on three papers.
On the first one she
wrote and drew a baby boy. On the
second paper, she
wrote and drew a baby girl. On the third paper she
wrote Twins. She showed it to me and my wife. We
laughed and thought it was cute.
Our two boys wanted
a boy and my lone daughter wanted a girl. Several
months later, the whole family went to my wife's
doctor appointment to see the ultra sound of our
baby. When the lady did the ultrasound, I was
watching the monitor and saw two round things. I
was puzzled and wondered if it was twins.
The lady looked at
me and said, yes you have twins. We were shocked
and surprised. The lady found out that one of them
is a boy. I was looking at my daughter Hannah. She
said there is no way the boy will sleep in her
room.
The lady tried to
find the sex of the other but it was hidden. I
looked at Hannah and she kept asking her to keep
trying. The lady said she needed to measure the
babies, etc. About ten minutes later, the lady
tried again. I knew that Hannah was hoping for a
girl. I believe she deserves to have a sister as
she is the lone girl.
I was hoping for the
same thing. Finally the lady said it is a girl.
Hannah was so excited. She got what she wanted and
the boys got what they wanted. We didn’t think
about the papers Hannah drew and wrote until a few
days after that. Then my wife brought it up. I
said, oh yeah, I remembered what she drew and
wrote. Do we still have these papers? She said no
as we probably threw them away.
But, it will always
be in our memory to be so amazed that Hannah knew it
would be a boy and a girl and that it would twins.
Our babies are due at the end of March 2008. We
planned to have another baby sometime after that
baby was to be born, but we were given twins so we
are satisfied.
