The first time I noticed their bond was when they
were 3 months old. We had to put Laci in the
hospital for a week because of a very bad infection.
That was the first time since they were born that
they had slept apart. I stayed at the hospital with
Laci and my husband and mother-in-law stayed home
with Lexis.
When they came to visit each morning we seemed to
have the same complaints; neither girl was sleeping,
at all. After about two days it was safe to bring
Lexis to visit her sister. As soon as she arrived we
placed her in the hospital crib with Laci and they
both reached out their hands until they were
touching one another, and promptly went to sleep.
They slept for 4 or 5 straight hours never moving
away from each other. To this day, they can't sleep
if one isn't in the house, and even though they
fight like cats and dogs, one will not leave the
house without the other.
