Double
trouble at 15 months ...
I am a mother of a set of twin girls at the age of
15 months.
Their names are Emma and Hannah. For the last 15
months it has been one exciting experience. From the
moment of birth they have had an uncanny bond.
They as newborns would only sleep when the other one
was sleeping. If one would cry then the other one
would start to cry. As the months grew on they
became aware of each other more and more everyday.
If one was down for a nap and the other one was up
then the one would try and wake the sleeping twin.
They would play so intently with each other and
forgetting everyone else around them. As soon as one
of the twins would spot her sister she would get so
excited, it was like they had not seen each other
for a very long time. I know it has only been a
short while for them but everyday is a new
experience. If one is causing mischief then she will
try and get her sister in on the action.
I find both of them very strong in character in
their own way. Sometimes I find that the first born
twin relies more on her younger twin to show her the
way or to lead in certain things. When it comes to
Emma (first born) she is the easy going one and
Hannah (of course the second twin) is the more
serious one.
Hannah is the thinker and Emma is the "lets just do
it," no thinking first. Emma is more musically
inclined than Hannah but Hannah is the one who is
more sensitive to her sister when she is upset.
Each day I always wonder what they will do or
encounter with each other. I am sure the next
eighteen years will be one adventure after another.
